Prevention is better than cure

With a well-planned training, you can prevent a lot of certain problems from arising in the first place. This is what we mainly focus on in the group lessons we offer. But the right acctivity also plays a very important role, because a mentally and physically trained dog that has learned to think independently and searches creatively for solutions shows less undesirable behavior.

If you are interested in one of the courses, just contact me and I will let you know whether the course you want is currently running.

Courses for juvenile dogs (mondays, at 11:00 and thursdays, at 16:00)

Changes in behavior during adolescence are one of the risk factors for giving up the animal. Males of larger breeds and, in increasing numbers, representatives of the herding dog breeds are particularly affected. However, these difficulties can be avoided if one generally bases the handling and training on the knowledge of the youth development of mammals in general and that of the domestic dog in its special environment.

Setbacks in a dog's behavior after puppyhood have something to do with hormonal and neurological changes in the dog itself. Puberty makes the individual fit for life as a biologically adult animal. In dogs, for example, it is known that anxiety either suddenly appears or worsens during puberty (anxiety phases). Many dog owners believe that these phases are developmental phases that would pass the dog without a trace. But this is a serious misjudgment, because fear can always be linked to other stimuli, so that the list of fear triggers for the young dog can become ever more extensive. Many of the undesirable behavior changes persist even as an adult dog. The earlier you work on alternative behaviors, the better it is for dogs and owners.

In the juvenile dog course, we not only build up signals that help us to manage the pubescent behaviour, but the learned alternative behaviors also help us to master everyday situations confidently with the adult dog later.

Basic course for adult dogs (mondays, at 11:00)
This course is intended for everyone who is new to dog training over positive reinforcement and wants to develop the most elementary signals in order to build a good relationship and a confident coping with everyday life. All ages and training levels are welcome here. In addition to building up behavior such as waiting, orientation on the owner, walking on a loose leash, recall, etc., there is also plenty of fun with exciting activities. In addition, I take a lot of time in these classes for your questions and requests.

Advanced group (wednesdays, at 17:15)
In this group, everyone who has already attended a basic or juvenile dog course or who has already built up a very good basic obedience and thus has a good basis of signals and behavior can go deeper into the education and deepen and continue what has already been learned. There is a diverse mix of obedience and activity exercises, as well as ideas for creative walks and insights into various dog sports.

Courses for senior dogs (thursdays, at 19:00)

Older dogs often struggle with the weakening of their sensory organs and can no longer keep up with the more active dogs. Often they are afraid of unrestrained dog encounters and they need a quiet environment to be able to enjoy social contacts. As they get older, other things also become more and more important, such as clipping the claws and checking teeth, eyes and ears. It can also be very profitable for the dog owners themselves if they can exchange ideas with owners of other senior dogs. In this context, I offer a very calm training concept that includes many components of medical training, but also exercises for fitness and muscle building are included. Because it is important that the old dog keeps moving. This slows down the decline in the performance of the cardiovascular system, muscles, joints and other organs.

Everything so that our seniors can continue to participate in the training and experience new, exciting things.

If there are already strong behavior problems, often the only thing that helps is individual training in individual lessons, so that we can look in detail at where this behavior comes from and thus be able to change its core. So please understand if I advise against group training in some cases and want to do individual lessons.
